Preparing DataWe help investigators who are creating datasets to make data public, and to do so in a way that is efficient for them, useful for other researchers, and productive in the long term. Beginning as early as project conception, the DSDR staff is available for consultation about designing data files. We assist data producers in the creation of metadata that are effective for the entire lifetime of the study, and we encourage them to begin the documentation process as early in the study's history as possible. |
Disseminating DataThe DSDR project archives and disseminates data through ICPSR. The DSDR staff is available for consultation about data dissemination procedures. DSDR Policies and ProceduresDSDR has specified several policies and procedures detailing options for archiving and disseminating data as well as outlines of services offered to data producers. Restricted Data Plan and Contract Development Procedures Disclosure and Confidentiality Review Procedures Delayed Dissemination Policy Preservation Only Policy |
Papers & ReportsTo find known publications using demographic data, search the complete Bibliography of Data-Related Literature, which links to the data referenced in each publication and to online publications, when available. |
QualAnonQualAnon is a web-based anonymizing tool that takes a user-generated name key to replace identified names with pseudonyms. It has several options, including the option to have an annotated document created that identifies where specific changes have been made in the document. The program also creates a summary report that specifies the number of times a specific name has been replaced. In addition, QualAnon has a "batch" option that allows the users to anonymize several documents at once using one name key by uploading the files and the name key as a Zip file. |
Designing a Restricted Data Use ContractThis Web tool provides data producers with suggestions of elements to be considered for inclusion in contracts to disseminate data that are of a confidential or sensitive nature. In addition to these suggestions, this Web site will offer information that may be of help to data producers in identifying and managing confidentiality issues related to data released for use by the public. |
About the Project(DSDR) provides support to investigators and the research centers in which they work for data sharing and archiving. |
