About the Project
DSDR is a project of ICPSR in collaboration with the Carolina Population Center (CPC) at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, the Minnesota Population Center (MPC) at the University of Minnesota, and the Population Studies Center (PSC) at the University of Michigan. The project is supported by the Demographic and Behavioral Sciences Branch of the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development. The DSDR organizational structure includes the following:

Tools and resources for dissemination of public-access data
Tools and strategies for dissemination of restricted-access data
Long-term secure archiving of public-use and restricted-use data
State-of-the-art training in the preparation and dissemination of data and metadata
Assistance in developing data discovery mechanisms

Data Sharing for Demographic Research (DSDR) provides support to the demographic research community for accessing demographic data. We support data users interested in locating, accessing, and analyzing data. We provide:
A searchable index of demographic data
Access to public-use data and restricted-use data
Assistance in meeting security requirements when applying for restricted-use data
User support
Online analysis
Training in data use
